"Skinny"
Do you ever look at the pictures of models whilst having a casual browse on ASOS, and end up thinking about how you look nothing like them? How they're prettier, slimmer, how their skin is perfect and their hair in thick perfectly straight locks down their perfect figure? Because that's exactly how I've been feeling recently.
I'm sat here in my bedroom, with That's The Spirit on repeat through my headphones, with my hair in a towel and my glasses perched on my far from perfect nose and skin. Before sitting down at 10pm, when its dark outside and the only sound I can hear besides my music is the sound of my fingers sliding across these keys, I looked in the mirror. And all I could think was "ew". All I could think about was every ounce of fat that is glued to my skin, the extra fat around my hips and stomach and especially my thighs. "Fat". "Ugly". "Disgusting". That's what is going round my mind over and over again like a carousel.
Whenever I flick through my Instagram feed, I can't do so without coming across numerous pictures of girls (at least half of them I know in person) without admiring their perfectly skinny figures, with perfect tiny waists and hips and collarbones which are perfectly pronounced, and the thigh gaps just perfectly wide and their calfs perfectly slim. They are skinny. And as my finger pauses in it's scrolling on each of them, I can't help but admire that, and ponder over the fact that I don't look like these girls. At all. I'm not skinny. I hate everything about my figure and my body and my appearance. But teenage girls just like me cannot go anywhere without drowing in images of girls with perfect figures. Girls who are skinny.
I have been working out one to two times a day for the past two weeks, and only just beginning to see the progress. I know that I've lost weight, and that I should be happier with my figure now. But I'm not. It isn't enough. Each ounce of fat that I burn off leaves me wanting to burn two more. Each meal that I eat that I think is too big makes me want to skip the next.
I don't know what this is. I know plenty about eating disorders, but I dont know. I don't know if all girls or a lot of girls who don't suffer with anorexia (or any other eating disorder) feel like this, but I do.
I feel smothered. Smothered in a world of perfect girls. Skinny, perfect girls

Long time, no see.
To say it's been a while would be an understatement.
I promised myself that I was going to carry on but I didn't, and then I left without explanation.
I came back just to have a little look at this and see what's become of this little space I seem to have acquired on the internet, only to see that I still get page views daily. Now this is honestly ridiculous that there are still people checking up on this crappy little blog.
I think I owe you an explanation as to where I've been. When the new school year started, three weeks into the term, my life went downhill very fast. I went from having a fairly secure group of friends to spending two weeks with one friend and being a complete outcast to my class and year. During this time I was bitched about behind my back and some of the things people did to me have had repercussions that still affect me today. I was certainly not in the mind-set for blogging. Also, it occurred to me how fake I was being online, like I was constantly seeming very happy and content online and making my life seem good when its not.
I don't really know what else to say. I don't know if you guys want me to carry on being the fourteen year old who writes shit on the internet or if you want me to just give up altogether. Let me know in the comments or an email or something (I won't bite (; )
Amerelle (still staying anonymous haha)
PS. I'm not being fake here. I literally just started randomly typing and this is what happened. You can probably tell that I'm not particularly happy :(

Who I Am & Big Announcement.
Hi, I'm Amerelle.
I like reading. I love photography. I'm quite shy and a little insecure. I find music played on the piano very relaxing. I have a tendency to wear either very dark or very pale coloured clothes. I like being outside. I have a fear of flying. I listen to music whenever I can. Art is very important to me. Sometimes I doodle without even realising.
To anybody else, these are just random facts about myself that I thought of off the top of my head, but actually these things (and much more) make up who I am. Maybe these points don't make me unique individually, but together they create someone independent and is always searching for the approval of others.
So, yes, I have flaws, and yes, I'm not perfect, but even that is still a part of who I am.
So, this is what I wrote for my project. But I also have some news, I've been offered to take part in a joint blog, based generally around the world of books (which appealed to me greatly), and I said yes. I've considered dropping this blog, to write for "Living In Fiction" instead. I promised myself when I started this blog that I wouldn't stop, and I won't.
I'll keep uploading on this blog and write for wearelivinginfiction.BlogSpot.co.uk too.
I won't stop uploading on this blog. However hard things might get for me in my personal life, I want to carry on and I know I'll regret it if I stop.
I love you all very much.

Who Am I?
Today I was set of homework to write a paragraph about what makes me unique and who or what made me the person I am today.
When I was told this, I'm not going to lie, my heart sunk. There are a lot of pieces of homework which I've found extremely difficult, but this one is by far the hardest.
I can't ask people what makes me unique. I can't ask anyone else what made me who I am today. I've been asking myself the same question since this was set;

Who Am I?
Well, in all honestly, I don't know. I don't know who I am and having to write about myself (which, quite frankly, I can sometimes get very paranoid about) about a topic I know nothing about, well, I'm pretty stuck.
So, I have until Friday to not only find out who I am, but to decide what I'm prepared to share and put it into words.
So, throughout this week I'll be asking myself this question.
In the comments, tell me who you are. Tell me something happy or funny or maybe completely random about yourself. Then I'm getting to know you all a little better as well as getting to know myself too.
Amerelle x
PS. I'm sorry for not uploading a blog post in a few days, I was busy and I was worried about starting school again. I'm back to uploading regularly again now! :)

The Homework Guide (B2S 2015)
- Write Down Your Homework. When I was around the age of 10, I used to be the laziest person when it came to writing down my homework, and as a result, I used to (regularly) forget what the homework was. Some schools supply planners to keep note of your homework, and at others you have to buy your own. (If you need to buy one, I found one that isn't expensive at all that you could take a look at if you need to --> http://www.amazon.com/Student-Planner-2015-2016-School-Content/dp/B00PB10KLW/ref=sr_1_9?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1440949417&sr=1-9&keywords=school+planner+2015-2016 (US) or http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-2015-2016-Academic-Fully-bound-August-August/dp/B00XPAU3HM/ref=sr_1_45?s=officeproduct&ie=UTF8&qid=1440949749&sr=1-45&keywords=school+planner (UK) )
- Do it the night it is set. This is the best thing to do with homework, especially if you get lots of it. Once it's done, it's done, and for every piece you finish, that's one less piece to have to find time to finish. Plus, once all your homework is done for the day, you'll have the rest of the evening to yourself.
- Don't keep procrastinating about getting it done. Procrastinating does nothing except mean that you'll have to do your homework later, and probably end up rushing it. I'm not saying not to take a 5 minute break every hour or anything, just don't turn a 5 minute break into a 20 minute one. Your homework is going to have to be done at some point, and it's better to get it done sooner rather than later.
- Pick a quiet environment. For me, this is really important, I can't focus on anything with even the slightest amount of unwanted background noise. I listen to music while I do it to block out the rest of the sound around me, and because when I listen to music it's more like being in my own little bubble away from the world, instead of at home where my family is talking constantly in another room.
- Put away any distractions. I think we're all guilty of stopping halfway through our homework to flick through our social media at one point or another, but that's honestly just going to make your homework take longer. Put your phone on the other side of the room and keep it on silent, along with your laptop if you aren't using it (if you have your own laptop, that is)

I hope that this was somewhat helpful in some way, if it was let me know in the comments.
I doubt it was.
Oh well.
I tried.
(I just realised that I start school in a week...)

PS. Good luck to those of you who have already gone back to school or are going back this week!

New look & New Teachers (B2S 2015)
You would've already noticed when you clicked on the link for my blog today that my blog has had bit of a makeover. It took around one to two hours to completely redesign it, as there is a lot of settings that needed to me changed or added.
I will admit that it was a little bit stressful at times because it took a lot of playing around to get some of it as I wanted it.
I'm really happy with it now, and I hope you all like it too.
And now back to the actual topic of this blog post.
New teachers.
(I can imagine you all groaning at this point)
You all know that starting a new year generally means a new set of teachers who probably don't know you, and generally you want your teachers to like you.
So this is my attempt and guiding you when dealing with all the new teachers during the first lesson, because it's all about first impressions.
![]() |
Credit to weheartit.com |
- Don't be late to your first lesson
- Be on time to your first lesson
- Do everything you're supposed to do during class
- Restrain from talking to your friends in class.
- Don't forget anything that you need (Pens, rulers, glue etc.)
- Make your work as neat as possible
- Try not to draw during class (this note is kind of to myself, because I draw most of the time at school.. oops.)
Unlikely haha.

Back To School Q&A - Part 2 (B2S 2015)
I do believe that the other half of your Q's require A's
And that's what I'm going to do.
Right now.
I didn't think I'd get this many questions.
You guys who follow my instagram (@/that.awkwardfangirl) are insane, literally.
Thank you all so much.
Now, please enjoy my A's for your Q's.
Fun way to study vocabulary?
I hate to break it to you, but there really is no fun way to study whatsoever. Sorry, if there was I would've discovered it by now because I hate studying (with passion).
How do deal with bullies?
Bullies are tough to deal with (I know from experience), but it's always best to just walk away. If they say something, just walk past them and don't look back. They aren't worth it. They want a reaction, so make sure you don't give it to them. Also remember that there's always people that you can talk to if you need to, you should never have to go through that alone. (If you do need to talk about anything, please just drop me an email (amerellerose@gmail.com) because I'd be happy to help. Also I know this was on the last post too I just wanted to make sure that everybody sees it)
What books do you recommend to get from the school library?
ALL OF THEM. GET THEM ALL. (I'm being serious.)
How do you make sure you don't forget any homework?
Do it the night that you get it! Once it's done, it's done. Once you've finished it, put your book/folder in your bag so you can't leave it at home (if it's a sheet of paper get a plastic wallet to keep all your papers in, and keep it in your bag too)
How to avoid breaking into song when the answer to a question in math class is 13?
(Apparently this person is obsessed with the musical 13)
Write down all the lyrics to a song in the back of a notebook or tap the tune with your fingers on a notebook (quietly!) haha.
How to get motivated to learn?
At the end of the day, tell yourself that you can do something you really like (Eg. Watch YouTube/Netflix for an hour, have a chocolate bar, spend time on Skype/Facetime with friends etc.) if you've worked hard and done everything that you have to do that day.
![]() |
Credit to weheartit.com |
What's your YouTube?
(Not exactly school related but I thought I'd answer it anyway) I don't have a YouTube channel. I watch YouTube from another Google account but I've never uploaded videos or anything like that.
How do you know that someone is really your friend and they aren't just using you?
If they are using you, then they'll probably be asking for you to do or help with their homework regularly, ask for money and ask for favours etc. but spend a lot more time with other people than they do with you, and maybe not seem that friendly around you unless they need something. If this is the case, then remember that there are better friends out there, it just takes time to find them sometimes.
How to make projects with boys less awkward?
Just be nice and seem approachable and relaxed. If you seem fine with it then then he will probably become more relaxed too.
Which teacher do you hate?
I'm not going to say anything about her identity, but she's very strict, she sets us three times as much homework as we're supposed to get, she also asks us very personal questions which nobody wants to answer and she also forces us to do things (to individuals) that we mentally cannot handle.
How to bribe a sixth former into buying you coffee?
Find a sixth former that you vaguely know (or get to know one somehow if you need to) and just ask them because if you kinda know them then they'll probably be happy to do it.
How to stay awake long enough to get ready
(because you spent the whole night watching Sherlock)
1) Don't watch Sherlock for too long!
2) Have a cold shower as soon as you get up, it'll wake you up. Also have a coffee if you want to. (See the last question if you need a sixth former to buy it for you too)
And that is all the Q's that you wanted A's to.
No more parts.
Promise.
I hope you found these somewhat helpful. (If you did please let me know in the comments!)
If you have any other questions just leave it in the comments and I'll reply to you tomorrow!
This probably wasn't helpful at all.
Oh well, I tried.
Amerelle x
PS. I know some of you are already going back to school, so if you are, Good Luck!

Back To School Q&A - Part 1 (B2S 2015)
If you follow me on instagram (@/that.awkwardfangirl) then you'll probably have seen that I asked you for questions for this post.
And, so, it is now time for me to give A's to your Q's.
I did get a fair few questions too, which is really nice because I love it when you're all a part of my blog too!
How do you get a good night's rest?
I'm the worst at this, but I'd recommend putting your phone and laptop on the other side of the room, and give yourself a set time that you have to stop reading (or anything else that you might be doing) and go to sleep.
Any tips on how to deal with presentations when you have social anxiety?
I'm not really the best person to ask this to, but make sure to take deep breathes throughout and practice at home until you feel comfortable when you do it. You could also ask your friends if you could practice it a couple of times in front of them so you've practiced with people watching before you have to present it.
How do you make new friends?
DO NOT TRY TO BE FRIENDS WITH "POPULAR PEOPLE" OR PEOPLE THAT ARE ALREADY A GROUP OF FRIENDS. I cannot stress that point enough. Approach people who are sitting nearer the back or seem quiet or alone, because they might be too shy to make friends themselves, and the chances are they'll probably be really nice people. Also, don't try to change/hide yourself to be friends with people.
How to get homework done faster?
Turn your phone (and laptop if you aren't using it) off. It's honestly that simple.
How do you adjust to a new school?
Before starting, go onto the website and find out as much as you can about the school, your classes and how the school day works etc. that way you'll know quite a bit beforehand and you'll just have to settle into a general routine with your classes and friends.
Best tip to get through gym class?
I feel your pain, I hate gym. Just spend as much time as you can with your closest friends and it'll be so much easier as you'll be able to talk while to you do whatever you're doing.
How to stay organised/remember things when you don't have much time to make note of things?
Write the name of the subject that you have to remember something for so you've got a note of it and then when you have a minute or two write down whatever you have to do in full in a planner.
![]() |
Credit to weheartit.com |
What is your favourite subject?
Art. Art is life. I literally draw on anything and everything, anywhere. A few days ago I was in a shoe shop buying my school shoes and while I was waiting I drew a braid because why not.
What do you hate the most about school?
Talking in class and people. I'm just the quiet one to be honest, and people, well, yeah. I find it very hard to trust people now because I've had a lot of bad experiences regarding friendships.
Do you do your homework as soon as you get home or sometime after, what do you recommend and why?
I do my homework as soon as I get home, or even sometimes at the school library during lunch because I don't like coming home and having lots of homework. I get it done as quickly as possible and then it's over with. So I definitely recommend doing it ASAP because once it's done, it's done.
(If you do need to talk about anything, please just drop me an email (amerellerose@gmail.com) because I'd be happy to help)
Do your friends always see you being busy in the library?
No, I go alone. They don't ever really go to the library unless they need to print something off.
That is the first half of the questions answered.
I'm answering the other half tomorrow so don't worry if I haven't answered yours yet!
Thank you so much if you did ask one.
I had no idea it would take this long to write.
(And now my laptop is running out of battery.
Somebody please invent 500% battery life.)
If you have any other questions just leave them in the comment and I'll reply to them tomorrow!
Let me know what your favourite subject at school is in the comments and why.

Huge Stationary Haul (B2S 2015)
So, I went shopping.
Surprise, surprise.
(As a note, I love shopping.
A lot.)
It's that time of year when every single student is rushing into WHSmith or Paperchase (etc.) to buy two tonnes of stationary for the new school year.
(Which 99.9% of us are dreading.
No surprise there)
Today was my turn.
And as part of my Back to School series, I thought I'd tell you what I bought.
(DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT TRYING TO BRAG OR BOAST IN ANY WAY, I JUST THOUGHT THAT THIS WOULD BE HELPFUL OR INTERESTING TO SOME OF YOU)
![]() |
- Zoella Eyes Beauty Bag - I'm using this as a pencil case because the ones in the general stationary stores weren't big enough and this one is just so much nicer. It looks really cute on my desk too.
- Black Biro's (Bic) - These pens just work really well for me. Usually I'd have a variety of colours and brands but this year I thought I'd just stick to black because.. I don't actually know, to be honest, I just wanted to.
- Bic Cristal Pens (4) - These come with a pick, purple, pale blue and lime green colours and I just thought they'd be handy because I didn't buy fine-liners this year (I didn't use them much so I'm just not taking them now)
- Stabilo Original Highlighters (4) - We all need highlighters to, you know, highlight stuff.
- Helix 30cm fold-in ruler - #foldinrulersquad
- Bic HB Mechanical Pencils (5) - I have soo many of these pencils, BIC stuff just suits me really well for some reason. I don't even know, guys, I don't even know..
- Helix Protractor - This needs no explanation.
- Helix Rubber - No explanation required (I hope..)
- Helix Sharpener - You're going to need to sharpen stuff so..
- WHSmith Correction Pen - Practically Tipex in a pen, for those of you wondering. I go through A LOT of these..
- Helix Compass - That's the thing about circles.. they demand to be drawn.
- Pritt Stick Glue (Original) - Should I need to say anything about this? Just your average glue..
- Maped Stainless Scissors (Pink & Black) - Everything is better when it's pink and black.
- WHSmith 6 Sketching Pencils Set - B to 6B pencils because I'm really into Art and I thought it would be handy.
- Casio Scientific Calculator (Pink) - Everything's better when it's pink. Even physics.
- Big Pink Sticky Lables - for, you know, labelling stuff. As you do.
- Clear Zip Wallet with White Spots - I swear I will loose ALL my sheets without this. And I mean all of them.
- A4 Black Lined Notebook - For all your notes. That is sort of what a notebook's for..
- 5 plastic wallets (X3) - They were on 3 for 2, alright? I use these SOO much.
- Floral Plain Paper Notebook - I may or may not spend most of my classes drawing instead of listening to the teacher. Oops. #SorryNotSorry
Yes, I know that I bought a lot. I had to replace most of my stationary because it had either run out or was years old, so I thought it was about time I got myself some new stuff for school.
I did pick up a couple of other bits which you'll see in a couple of week's time in a blog post.
No spoilers. Hehe.
Let me know in the comments what your favourite thing is that you've bought for B2S this year and also if you like it when I do haul posts? I'm not sure whether to do them more often or not!
Thank you for reading, and I'll see you all very soon!

5 Tips for surviving the first day of school (B2S 2015)
The dreaded first day..
Some of you may have already gone back to school. If you have, well, I'm sorry.
The first day is usually the hardest but also the craziest day of the year (except when you break up for Christmas/Summer, and when you've finished your final exam..).
I, for one, generally struggle that day, and I'm sure the majority of teens do.
And so, I will be attempting (the key word is "attempting" here) to give you some tips on how to get through the day.
- Try to imagine that this is just another day at school, that it won't be much different from any other day.
- Get everything ready the night before. Have your clothes laid out, your bag packed (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED) and your make up (if you wear make up, that is) ready on the dressing table. That way you won't be fussing around looking for things at 7am when all you really want to do is to go back to sleep.
- Set multiple alarms. As many as you think you need to actually get yourself out of bed (I know it's hard, I feel your pain)
- Treat yourself to a breakfast that you really like, that way you'll feel that bit more positive before leaving for school.
- Even though you don't want to be there, try to be as kind, friendly and talkative (with your friends) as you can.

These were probably useless tips.
Oops.
I wish you all the best of luck for the school year, and I hope you all enjoy the Back To School blog posts that I have planned for the next few weeks!

10 Ways to Survive Traveling by Aeroplane (Especially if you're as terrified as I am)
- Try to get enough sleep the night before the flight (which I did NOT do, as you'll know from my previous post )
- Dress in clothes that make you feel comforted and at home.
- At the Duty Free store (Dear whoever invented the Duty Free, you are a true genius) treat yourself to something you've been wanting for a while so that you're in a good mood when you get on the plane.
- In order to complete number 3; remember your money! (I thought this was necessary to include since I didn't..)
- In your hand luggage, bring things that calm you down or that you enjoy (This is my number 1 essential whenever I'm flying anywhere. Maybe I should've put this at number 1..?)
- Sit by the window. This probably seems a bit weird but it always helps be to know that the world is still working as normal and that it is just outside (but maybe don't look down if you're afraid of heights..), and I find it very relaxing. I wouldn't recommend actually going outside though.
- Make a playlist of your favourite songs that make you feel happy or relaxed, and listen to it on repeat for the whole flight. And resist the urge to sing along.. I had do. Frequently.
- I always find that drawing helps me to stay relaxed throughout the flight, but you could do anything that you enjoy or find relaxing, or watch a movie if you're on a long-haul flight (Last time I was, I watched so many movies), or; just like I did, plan a blog post (this one, as a matter of fact)
- Breathe. If you start feeling nervous or worried, take deep breathes and maybe put on some music. You could also think about thinks that relax you, like memories or places.
- Remind yourself that the flight isn't going to last forever and that you will get off the plane at some point, no matter how long the flight is.
You've probably already guessed that I'm home from my holiday because I'm writing this, but just in case you didn't guess; I'm back.
I'm not going to say too much about my trip on this blog post because I've planned a some to post with lots of photographs and detail about it, which I'll be uploading during the next week or so.
What's you're favourite thing to do on a flight?
Let me know in the comments and I'll reply to them all!

PS. If you're reading this because I posted about it on my instagram (@/that.awkwardfangirl) I really do appreciate you taking the time to. Leave your instagram name below so I can spam you or give you a little nice surprise.

It's 2am.
It's 2am, and I am awake.
Why am I awake?
Because, for some ridiculous reason, my family and I's flight leaves at 6am.
To go on holiday.
Of course I'm very excited, I'd just rather not be getting up at 2am for it.
As promised, I did post at 2am.
And I guess I'll see you on the other side!

Off On Holiday
Hello, everybody reading, I hope you're doing ok.
Tomorrow morning, I'm going on holiday!
I'm looking forward to being away from the endless rain that I've been having here recently.
And shopping in the duty free at the airport. A girl never has too much make up. Or jewellery. Or materialistic possessions in general.
You can probably tell that I'm a great fan of shopping by that.
I'm going to be bringing my laptop with me so I'll be writing and uploading blog posts from the hotel, but without the pictures because I won't be able to transfer them to my laptop until I get home.
I'm away for 10 days, but the bad part is that the taxi is coming to pick us up at 3am tomorrow morning, meaning that I have to wake up at 2.
I have to get up 8 hours from now.
Guess who's going to be tired on the plane tomorrow..
I will take LOTS of pictures which I'll put in the blog post(s) (not the ones of myself and my family, just to keep this anonymous).
I hope you all enjoy any holidays or activities you're doing this summer, and I'll try to write as many blog posts as I can whilst I'm away.
Also, I checked my stats earlier and it showed that I have views from a lot of countries, which I find amazing! The majority of them are from the UK and the US, but I also have some from Indonesia, South Africa, Serbia and more. Considering that I thought nobody would ever want to read my blog, finding that people in many different places are is amazing.
So, Hello, to all of you reading now, whatever country you're in. I really appreciate you reading my blog, however awkward I am.
See you all soon!
Amerelle x
PS. I might (It depends on how much time I have) upload a quick blog post once I'm up and ready because I'll be very tired and it'll probably end up being fairly amusing for you to read. I'm not making any promises though, just in case I don't.

Beyond the Screen
Before I start, I don't have anything in particular to talk about today, I just thought that I hadn't done a blog post in a few days.
So I'm just typing whatever comes to mind, and seeing where it goes.
A little random, really.
Ok very random.
Maybe I haven't been blogging for a few days because nothing's happened that's worth writing about.
Or because I've been spending less time on tecnology and spending more time doing what I love that doesn't require social media.
Maybe we should all take a day to do things we enjoy without using our phone, or our laptop, iPad etc.
That way we could see the world that's around us, instead of the one that we see from a screen.
Maybe we should just take a little time to look at the world around us. Appreciate the small things around us.
That's what I've been doing for the past few days
The really special things around us are so small and cannot be found on a screen.
Ok, I've been doing this for three days up until now, and I think you can do it too.
Sometime this week, have a day where your phone is off, don't go on your laptop or sit using tecnology.

And what you enjoy beyond the screen.
There could be quiet lanes perfect for a walk.
Or a book that you once loved waiting to be reread.
Or maybe a set of art supplies waiting to be used.
Try it. And let me know in the comments if you're going to do it and then how you got on afterwards.
You'll enjoy it, even if it's tempting to check your phone at first.
Trust me. It's nice.

Books & Braceless
Is it weird that the I thought of the name for this blog post whilst walking through BHS?
Probably.
Today I went to the dentist.
You're probably thinking something along the lines of; But that's so normal, why is she blogging about it?
I thought (Note the word 'thought') I was just getting my braces tightened (I've had braces for over a year and a half now), however, I actually had them removed.
I cannot put into words how good it feels to have these off.
Although it wasn't pleasant, having them removed, it was definitely worth it.
Now, I can actually smile without worrying about people judging me for the pieces of metal stuck to my teeth.
So, to any of you who have braces or are getting braces; It's worth it. Honestly it is.
Afterwards, my mum, sister and I all headed into Superdrug and WHSmith (Two of my three favourite shops, the other one is New Look) just to pick up a few bits.
Except it was more than a few bits. Typical.
So, in Superdrug, the first thing I bought was.. you know what, I'll just put it in a list, there's too much to go into detail about everything that I bought.
- MUA Lipstick in Tulip - I paid with my Superdrug points card so technically this was free, and I've already tried it and loved it.
- Zoella Kissy Missy Lip Balm - great job, Zoe
- Maybelline Baby Skin Primer in Cool Rose - Just topping up
- A pack of cotton pads to remove my make up - I use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water for any of you wondering
- Soap and Glory Hand Maid - this smells amazing by the way
- Soap and Glory Hand Food - this is my all time favourite hand cream.
- Soap and Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter - This is a new try for me because I needed a good body butter and I have dry skin (you'll just have to imagine me sighing at this point)
- Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter - they were giving this for free when you spend £10 on Soap and Glory, so I'm looking forward to trying this too.
Now, at this point, you'll be wondering; What about the books you mentioned in the title?
I'm getting to that.
WHSmith had a 'BUY 1 GET 1 HALF PRICE' sale on books when I went past.
I couldn't help myself, ok?
And, of course, I came out with two new books which I have wanted for a long time.
The first one is "ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES" by Jennifer Niven. I saw this recommended in one of Zoe Sugg's (More commonly known as Zoella) favourites videos and it really did sound like my kind of book. And so it is currently on my bedside table waiting for me to continue reading tonight (I sat down to read a little earlier to get a few bits off my mind, and reading always seems to help me with that, is it just me?).
Secondly, I bought "IF I STAY" by Gayle Forman. I've been waiting to read this book for so long, it's actually crazy. Plus the cover is just so gorgeous. It doesn't say in the book who took the photographs, but whoever did, their photography is like my life goals.
What book are you reading or looking forward to reading at the moment? Let me know in the comments, and I'll reply to you later on today.

Discovering Old Memories
Have you ever been looking through your things and you end up finding something that you'd lost or forgotten that you had that actually has a lot of meaning and sentimental value to you? I have.
Last week I moved into my new house after the decorators were nearly finished decorating (as decorators do) and I spent hours unpacking all of my boxes and organising everything. Whilst doing this, I found an old memory box. It was from the school I attended from Kindergarten until Year 2, and at the end of the year, everybody in my year put together their own memory box.
I think it's safe to say that I've definitely improved artistically since then.
I'd decorated it with colourful stickers and strips of pastel coloured paper, along with the name of the school and all of the name tags that I'd used during my last year.
Inside I found a number of things:
- A Goodbye Poem that I wrote in one of my last English classes
- The name tag that I'd made for my coat peg
- Four medals from Sports Day (They were all for taking part, I'm honestly not very gifted at sport)
- A couple of disposable cameras (which I still haven't had developed.. oops)
- Two awards that I received during assemblies
- My dance exam certificates (I stopped doing dance very early on in year 3)
- An old drawing in felt pens
- My last class photograph
- The program from our year group's play. This was my favourite thing to find because my two best friends and another boy all had the lead roles, and the memories with them are just so amazing to think back on.
- And also a wooden clothing peg that I'd decorated for some reason..
I think these memories are ones that I won't let go of. My years at that school were the best years I've ever had at school.
Our memories are some of the most precious things that we will ever own, and this is how I kept them at the age of seven.
Although at that age I was completely different to how I am now, it's nice to look back at myself being so happy and full of life.
What little keepsakes do you have from your childhood?

Hello, World!
I've decided to start a blog.
This blog.
Why?
Have you ever gotten a drink to take away hot chocolate from Costa and it's so full that when you open it to put a few marshmallows on the top, it just goes everywhere? That's a bit like me. Except I'm not filled with hot chocolate with no room for marshmallows. I have lots of things inside that I kind of want to say but I just can't pluck up the courage to actually say it, especially when it includes starting a conversation.
I used to keep a diary for few years, not everyday just because I couldn't be bothered a lot of the time, and I stopped altogether around November, partly because I didn't want to remember what I was writing about during that time, and just because nobody was ever going to read it, and I rarely read it back myself unless I was long overdue a trip to the bookstore.
And so my blog came into existence. Because you're reading this.
I don't know particularly what I'm going to write about on here - just what I want, when I want and how I want - knowing that somebody will read this without worrying that somebody from my school will find out and judge me and I won't look silly to people I see a lot.
Exactly why I've decided to stay anonymous.
Just so I can be me without people knowing it's me.
And so, in my little corner of the internet, which you are now sharing with me by reading this, my name is Amerelle (this isn't my actual name, but this is how you can know me) and I'm just another quiet teenage girl.
One thing I can guarantee that you will find on my blog is photography. I don't know why I love photography, really, I just do. By taking a photograph, I'm saving a moment forever, instead of letting it fade to a distant memory, or being forgotten completely. Not photographs of me (If there were then it wouldn't exactly be anonymous!), I prefer to stay behind the camera when I can, and then you can see things that I've once seen in person.
And for some reason I really like the idea of you seeing everything that I've seen.
Ok, so I guess that's it. Thank you so much if you're reading this (if that's anybody at all!), I do appreciate it! Let me know one thing that you love in the comments below (if you love photography too then you'll be right at home on my blog).
